Darnit! Ive just described Dream Theater again, I think they are the perfect band. Other than Rush. Rush can do no wrong.

[QUOTE=Dirty Savage][FONT="Palatino Linotype"]What about Coheed and Cambria? They have been compared to Rush on numerous occasions on the whole prog-rock thing and, I'm guessing, because the singer sounds remarkably similar to Geddy Lee.

Coheed & Cambria definitely kicks ass! They are one of my favorite bands. Other great newer bands include:

Avenge Sevenfold
Crossfade
Breaking Benjamin
10 Years
Puddle of Mudd
Nine Inch Nails
System of a Down
Hawthorne Heights (hometown favorite)
Nickleback
Staind
Three Days Grace
Shinedown
Trapt
Theory of a Deadman
Evans Blue
Kenny Wayne Shepard Band (rock & blues combo)
Creed
Modern Day Zero
Saliva
Slipknot
Three Doors Down

Classic rock bands to listen to:

The Doors (one of the best of all time)
Led Zeppelin
Pink Floyd
Aerosmith
Lynard Skynard
Meatloaf
Janis Joplin
Kiss

And if you have troubles finding their albums, use this site: http://translate.google.com/translat...ial_s%26sa%3DG

THere's a search function on that site near the top right corner, and it hosts several albums! Updated every little while ^_^

I think Agalloch was in May >_> I honestly don't remember.

INDEED.

I only really like Clapton's version of Classical Gas and Layla Live. Everything else by him is..meh..

And I've downloaded his discography along with Cream's.

If you like Dream Theater, methinks you will like Gordian Knot. Progressive metal at one of the higher points!

Here's the intro to the album 'Emergent.' Sexy bass.

Same album, more than just bass Muttersprache!

Here's the last one I feel like uploading right now: Shaman's whisper.

Hold you up to the flames. What do I get but my pain. Betrayed desires, and a piece of the game. Even now I know but I suppose I'll show all my cool and cold like old jobbbb.

All from memory.
Add the Smashing Pumpkins to my list.

Ever noticed the great bands from Europe?

Children of Bodom
Opeth
Therion
Haggard
At the Gates
Nightwish

Well..it just goes on..

Those ones popped into my head right away.

And to tell you the truth, I don't like Jet, Wolfmother or ACDC.

I hate the vocals :/

Sounds like all those other bands out on the radio who think they can 'rawk out'. Stupid whiney singers who almost appear anorexic.

Hm, I vaguely remember the name Explosions in the Sky.

Do you think you can upload a song from them to jog my memory?

If I remember correctly, then the music is hauntingly beautiful and there are no vocals at all?
